Flavor Profile
Led by proprietor Jean-Charles Boisset and head winemaker Stephanie Putnam, Raymond Vineyards is “one of the iconic wineries of Napa,” says critic Robert Parker, and their dense, richly fruited Inaugural Gold Edition R Collection Cabernet Sauvignon is a limited release you won't want to miss.
Their red-labeled “Inaugural” Cabernet is one of our all-time best-sellers. Which got Jean-Charles thinking—why not reward all its loyal fans with a totally luxurious “Gold Edition.”
Stephanie (former winemaker for legendary Napa estates Far Niente and Hess) knew just the thing to bring the idea to life.
Taking the base “recipe” for the popular red label, she added a very healthy measure of premium Cab from the hallowed Rutherford district (“the Pauillac of California,” once declared author Hugh Johnson). After a little slumber in French oak, the resulting wine has all the delicious, dark-fruit flavor of the original with more concentration, structure and class.
We aren’t kidding when we say “limited-release,” either—don’t wait too long to order.
