The Black Stump Reserve Shiraz 2024

Flavor Profile
The Black Stump Reserve is a luscious, black-fruited Shiraz from the folks who crafts one of the most in-demand Australian red wines we know.
In Australia, ‘beyond the black stump’ is a phrase that means you’re really off the beaten path.b> But remote origins haven’t stopped The Black Stump—a blend of Shiraz and Petite Sirah, which is known as Durif when grown Down Under—from becoming a legend. That wine has racked up a dizzying amount of medals and international awards, and its fans are so devoted that they call the winery asking for more.
Needless to say, we were thrilled when winemaker David Joeky decided to make this limited-edition Reserve version from old, low-yielding vines grown in the renowned Clare Valley and McLaren Vale regions.
The gnarled heirlooms offer precious little fruit, but the grapes they do produce pack a serious punch of rich, concentrated flavor. Back in the winery, David ages the wine in fine oak barrels that contribute subtle vanilla flavors.
It’s clearly a recipe for excellence, yielding luscious blackberry and mocha-spice aromas and flavors. Rounded tannins introduce a silky-smooth finish and make the wine an ideal partner for roasted meats, hearty barbecue and more.
Limited stocks available.
