It comes from an award-winning winery with old vines that lie above 2,200 feet, some of the highest in Rioja,which yield an extremely concentrated, yet elegant, wine. They have taken home so many medals and awards over the years that we’ve lost count, including ‘Rioja of the Year’.
Made in the excellent 2021 vintage, hailed as one of the greatest Rioja vintages in recent years, the wine aged for five years before release. That patient wait in barrel and bottle has created a silky-smooth wine with layers of dark berry flavor and savory oak complexity. A great pairing for hearty casseroles, roast game or hard cheeses.
