Wine Flavor Profile
Selección Especial is a medium-bodied red with ripe red cherry and strawberry aromas, underpinned by vanilla oak and spice notes. On the palate, more vibrant red fruit and vanilla flavors introduce smooth tannins. The lengthy finish has a complex, savory edge.
Beyond the Label

Our Spanish wine expert, Jean-Marc Sauboua, can’t wait for you to taste his latest discovery. It’s an exciting, rule-breaking Tempranillo that offers incredible flavor and value.

Numerada 59 hails from a top estate in Rioja and their prime-sited Tempranillo vineyards. But why doesn’t it say ‘Rioja’ on the label? The estate wanted to take full advantage of recent superb harvests by blending Tempranillo from three fantastic vintages: 2017, 2018 and 2019. This breaks the region’s strict rules, so they can’t put Rioja on the label.

A portion of this Tempranillo was aged in fine oak barrels, so expect toasty vanilla spice notes melding with the ripe cherry and strawberry flavors. Easy drinking and food friendly, it’s perfect for a tapas night and delicious alongside lamb, pork or classic paella.

Definitely a must for fans of Rioja—or vibrant, food-friendly reds in general. Order your share of this limited-edition Tempranillo today.
