Paolo Monti Barolo Bricco San Pietro 2016

Flavor Profile
If you love Italian reds with elegance and finesse, Mount Pier Paolo Barolo Bricco San Pietro is a must-taste. Brimming with vibrant red and black fruits, it will command your attention from the first sip.
The wine hails from the Monti winery, set into the rolling Langhe hills of Montforte d’Alba, Piedmont. There, Turin-born founder Paolo Monti and winemaker Roberto Gerbino combine traditional know-how with modern production techniques to craft all sorts of delicious, terroir-driven bottlings. For this one, they source Nebbiolo from the elite Bricco San Pietro Cru vineyard, famed for limestone-sandy soils that lend great power and intensity. The grapes are hand harvested and carefully sorted before they undergo maceration and fermentation. When all is said and done, the wine is aged 36 months in a combination of new and old fine-grain French oak.
The result brims with aromas of cherry, blackberry and blueberry. It’s palate is fresh and dry, with similar flavors and a long finish. Pour generously and serve with game meats, hearty pasta dishes or beef.
