Flavor Profile

Wine Flavor Profile
Palazzo Grimani is a full-bodied red with ripe plum, black cherry, baking spice and toasty oak aromas. Rich and velvety, the palate offers intense dark-fruit flavors, oaky spice characters and a long, complex finish.
Beyond the Label

“Allegrini is a reference-point producer for fine Amarone,” writes leading Italian wine expert Antonio Galloni. Since the 16th century, the Allegrini family have played a leading role in the history of the Valpolicella region. And today, their award-winning wine range is one of the most famous and celebrated in Italy. In fact, Wine Enthusiast has called their Amarone “one of the most influential Italian wines of the last 25 years.”

Major praise, indeed. And hands down, this 91-point exclusive is the best Amarone we’ve tasted in a long time. Here are four (more) reasons to act now:

ITALY’S MOST DECADENT RED “One of the most unique and noble wines in the world” (The Wine Advocate), Amarone owes its famed intensity to the appassimento method of air-drying grapes on straw mats. This painstaking process turns each grape into a tiny knot of concentrated flavor and adds an inviting, unctuous mouthfeel to the wine.

NO EXPENSE WAS SPARED Palazzo Grimani was made with Corvina and Rondinella (two of Amarone’s star grapes), hand-harvested from Allegrini’s top-sited vineyards at the base of the Dolomite Mountains. A luxurious 15 months in the finest oak barriques has rendered the wine even more seductively smooth.

BIG ACCLAIM The wine boasts 91 point scores from both the International Wine & Spirit Competition and the Decanter World Wine Awards. IWSC judges wrote, “Concentrated nose of candied plums and red fruit compote with hints of vanilla and cinnamon giving it complexity. Smooth mouthfeel packed with intense fruits and integrated tannins.”

EXTREMELY LIMITED Because only a select number of the best grapes make the cut for this carefully crafted red, there’s painfully limited stock. Get in now to avoid missing out!
