The back roads of California’s wine country swoop over mountain ridges, offering breathtaking views of hidden vineyards. On a drive through Sonoma County – home to some of the Golden State’s freshest Cabernet Sauvignon – our expert, Clare, stumbled upon one of these special sites ...
The vineyard that produced the grapes for Mountain Drive is owned by a big-name estate. Thanks to Sonoma County’s “sensational” 2018 vintage (critic Jeb Dunnuck), the estate had an extra parcel of Cabernet on hand. When Clare saw the quality of the fruit, she negotiated to buy the lot a very smart price. And you’ll be glad she did.
Named after Clare’s fruitful trip, Mountain Drive offers ripe blackberry and black currant flavors, plus subtle sage and licorice characters. There’s also hints of toasty oak, thanks to light aging in fine French and American oak barrels. With its elegant, fresh palate and firm, food-friendly tannins, this Cabernet will be delicious on its own or with barbecued fare, hearty stews, or firm, aged cheeses.
Great quality for the price. Secure your share of this single-vineyard Sonoma Cabernet today.
