McPherson The Full Fifteen 2023

Flavor Profile
Famous for his personality-packed reds, Andrew McPherson is a favorite of top critic James Halliday (Australia’s answer to Robert Parker), who rates his estate an impressive four stars and writes that the quality of his wines “is unfailingly good.” The Full Fifteen—named for its 15% ABV—is the winery’s biggest, richest wine, overflowing with black fruit flavor and dark spice.
And we have to say, Andrew's head winemaker, Jo Nash, absolutely knocks it out of the park with this release. No surprise, given the mother of four’s experience making a big impact with little resources.
A blend of super ripe Cabernet, Merlot and other sun-drenched South Australian fruit (the perfect foundation for a FULL 15% alcohol), it’s so rich that Andrew has described it as being like “two bottles crammed into one.”
Look forward to an inky-purple color, with billowing aromas of blackberry and vanilla oak. On the palate, a velvety texture carries mouthfilling flavors of black cherry, plum and cassis—and makes this an ideal choice for hearty meals. Think BBQ, meaty pastas, braised red meats and more.
But do keep in mind: While BIG in flavor, this wine is small in volume and has a devoted fan base. Order soon if you want a taste!
