L’Orangeraie Pinot Noir 2020
Many top Burgundy houses have started making elegant, great-value Pinot Noir in southern France’s Languedoc region. But the Lorgeril family got here first (in 1620, to be precise!), and their Pinot Noir is a smooth-as-silk showcase of their skills.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.

But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

Beyond the Label

Searching for top-quality French Pinot Noir that won’t break the bank? Follow many prestigious Burgundy houses and head to southern France’s Languedoc region. The near-idyllic growing conditions and low cost of land (for now!) have made this region an epicenter of lovely, great-value Pinot Noir.

While others have only recently discovered the Languedoc’s potential, the Lorgeril family have known about it for centuries. They’ve made wine in the Languedoc since 1620, and L’Orangeraie is a delicious showcase of their skills. A previous vintage won a Gilbert & Gaillard gold medal, and the new 2020 release delivers the same classic elegance and fantastic value.

Look forward to ripe raspberry, strawberry and black cherry aromas, supported by southern France’s trademark wild herb notes. With silky tannins and a long, fresh finish, L’Orangeraie makes a delightful red-wine aperitif or a tasty match for vegetarian pastas, meaty fish or roasted pork or turkey.

Top tip: try chilling your bottle in the fridge for 30 minutes to give a fresh edge to the ripe fruit flavors. Of course, before you can do that, you’ve got to order your share.
