Beyond the Label

Winemaker Arianna Zannati is a major rising star in northern Italy...and she’s earned the critical acclaim to prove it. Last vintage, both her signature Pinot Grigio and this fine rosato earned 97 points from leading critic Luca Maroni. And the fresh 2019 edition continues the tradition with 90-point scores from Gilbert & Gaillard and winescritic.com.

What makes this lovely pink so special?

Il Sogno di Arianna (the dream of Arianna) hails from the hinterlands around famous Lake Garda and the Bardolino region, which is renowned for its gorgeous pink wines. Locals call the style chiaretto (‘little light one’) because the rosatos are often viewed as ‘lighter’ versions of the region’s illustrious reds. After all, they’re made from the same grapes as opulent Amarone, one of the world’s most treasured reds.

Crafted from Amarone stars Corvina and Rondinella, Il Sogno di Arianna showcases ripe citrus, red fruit and fresh floral notes, underpinned by subtle herb characters. Elegant and well-balanced, it’ll make a delightful aperitivo or a delicious partner for seafood, summer salads, or Mediterranean vegetables.

Bardolino pinks are quite rare in the U.S....and ones with such high acclaim are even rarer still. Secure your share today.
