Foxen Cellar Select Pinot Noir 2018

But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

“What a pretty wine this is.”
– Antonio Galloni
Our California expert, Clare, really scored with this stunning Pinot Noir exclusive, from one of California’s (if not the world’s) finest Pinot Noir producers.
Foxen Vineyard is a true boutique. They make just 18,000 cases per year, across some 28 different cuvées. Founded in 1985 by dynamic duo Dick Doré and Bill Wathen, it’s ranked as one of the state’s ‘Elite’ Pinot Noir specialists by Wine Enthusiast, and top critic Antonio Galloni says they’re making “some of the most expressive, singular wines in Santa Barbara County today.”
Hailing from top-sited vineyards in the premium Sta. Rita Hills, aka “the Vosne-Romanée of California” (Decanter), Foxen Cellar Select boasts a long history of acclaim. Last vintage, it scored a 93-point “Editors’ Choice” award from Wine Enthusiast, who called it “one of the winery’s better bottlings of the vintage.” Galloni was also impressed with it: “an enticing appellation wine from Foxen…the flavors are bright and detailed, with plenty of sweet red Pinot fruit shining through. Vineyard sites are John Sebastiano and La Encantada. What a pretty wine this is. 90 points.”
Just wait until you taste the fine 2018 release. Aged in fine French barrels for 17 months and bottled without fining or filtration (to maximize flavor), this is a dinner party-worthy Pinot Noir that will be delicious upon release—and over the next five to 10 years.
Galloni summarizes things best: “Simply put, I can’t recommend these wines highly enough.” Neither can we. Order today.
