Ervideira Lusitano 2019
The Leal da Costa family named this lovely white after their illustrious ancestor, the Count d’Ervideira, who first brought winemaking to Évora. Marrying star local grapes, it overflows with creamy, yet fresh, flavors of lychee, apple, and pear.

Beyond the Label

Portugal’s rich, modern reds might have stolen the spotlight, but the country is also home to brilliant whites that deserve your attention. As Wine Enthusiast’s Roger Voss writes, “Portugal is a great white-wine country,” and “Portuguese producers are making great white wines in regions you may never have heard of, from grapes you’re probably not familiar with.”

In other words, Portuguese whites are perfect for wine lovers who want to explore beyond the big names. We’re proud to be your guide, starting with this historic white discovery...

Ervideria Lusitano comes from the renowned Leal da Costa family. Their noble ancestor, the illustrious Count d’Ervideira, was the first to craft wine in their hometown of Évora. (The other half of the wine’s name, Lusitano, is a nod to the region’s famous white horses). It marries three native Portuguese grape varieties—luscious Antão Vaz, one of the Alentejo region’s most prized whites, aromatic Viosinho, and fresh Arinto.

Look forward to expressive lychee, apple, and pear aromas and flavors, supported by delicate floral notes. On the palate, the rich, creamy texture is balanced by vibrant acidity and a long, elegant finish. Enjoy a glass of this complex white before dinner to savor its unique flavor profile. Then, pair it with grilled fish, roasted white meats, lentil salads, and more.

A noble pedigree, delicious flavors, and fantastic value, too. What more could you want from a white? Order your share today.
