Beyond the Label

From the cellars that brought you our No. 1 favorite Australian red, The Black Stump, emerges this remarkable Durif-Shiraz. And whether you’re a fan of ‘The Stump,’ or just a lover of intense, ripened-to-juicy-perfection reds, you’ll want to snap this beauty up quickly.

It’s the pride-and-joy creation of David Joeky, apprentice to Black Stump mastermind, Alan Kennett. David set out to prove his winemaking chops are just as sharp as Alan’s, so in secret (and after hours), he began work on a mega-rich cuvée. A 60/40 blend of Aussie powerhouse grapes Durif and Shiraz, Dark Corner is an inky-black creation that’s a worthy (and delicious) challenger to The Black Stump.

Previous releases have won top gold medals and 93-point ratings from critic Sam Kim. He raved of the 2017 vintage: “Deep, dark, and opulent, the bouquet shows blackberry, blueberry compote, cocoa, and toasted hazelnut characters. The palate is full, weighty, and flavorsome, delivering delicious fruit flavors together with vanillin oak notes, making the wine very tasty and satisfying.”

It’ll score very well with a crowd too, thanks to its richness and inviting aromas and flavors. And with its tempting price, you can pour generously.

Get your orders in soon, because this black gem’s destined for major popularity.
