Beyond the Label

Paolo Masi is the acclaimed winemaker behind many of our best-selling Italian wines. The latest release of Collezione di Paolo brims with inviting dark fruits––and from the very first sip, you’ll see why customers and critics can’t get enough.

Since graduating top of his class at Florence’s wine university, “Paolo Masi has made an excellent impression with the estate wines of his family’s property,” says top critic Robert Parker of The Wine Advocate. Respected Italian wine guide Gambero Rosso also sings his praises, writing his wines show “irreproachably clean, fresh fruit and abundant personality.”

This Chianti is crafted at the family estate, which sits high on the hill overlooking the Argomenna Valley in Tuscany. It’s a prime spot for quality Sangiovese, placed on par with Chianti Classico since the 18th century. In the glass, look forward to enticing blackberry, cherry and violet aromas, with an abundance of elegant cherry fruit (Sangiovese’s calling card) on the palate.

It’s a classic partner for pizza and pasta, and Paolo also recommends pairing it with an antipasto platter (try tangy Pecorino cheese and slices of spicy Sopressata) or Tuscan staples like steak Florentine and ribollita, a hearty soup made with bread and vegetables.

Be sure to act quickly. This is a perennial bestseller and Paolo could only make so much…
