Beyond the Label

The original femme fatale, portrayed countless times on stage and in film, Cleopatra remains one of history’s most enigmatic figures. We’re paying tribute with this equally mysterious and seductive white blend.

Our winemaking team knew that every aspect of Cleopatra’s namesake white had to be fit for a queen. So, they made a beeline for Paso Robles, “one of California’s most dynamic regions” (Wine Spectator). It’s a hot spot for full-flavor, great-value wines, and thanks to the excellent 2019 vintage, our team had their pick of premium grapes.

As you might have guessed, this gorgeous white blend stars Chardonnay, the illustrious Queen of Whites, with a splash of popular Moscato. You’re in for expressive, perfumed aromas of grape, apple, and peach. The palate offers an enticing kiss of sweetness, plus lusciously ripe, orchard-fruit flavors.

While this lovely white will be a treat on its own, we think it deserves a royally delicious food pairing. Enjoy it as Cleopatra would – with a platter of peeled grapes and soft cheeses – or try mildly spicy Asian dishes or roasted white meats.

Order your share of this exclusive, off-dry white and add a little royalty to your wine rack.

Classic Movie Pairing: Cleopatra (1963)
Fox’s 1917 version of Cleopatra, starring the iconic Theda Bara, has unfortunately been lost to the ages. But the eminently enjoyable 1963 film starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton is a fantastic and equally lavish substitute, containing one of the best interpretations of the Egyptian ruler’s story put to screen. At over four hours in length, it gives you plenty of time to savor this luscious white blend.
