Beyond the Label

Rising star Samuele Ravina, known as “Berlico” to friends like us, studied winemaking under the legendary Paolo Sartirano—a name you may recognize as the winemaker behind many of our best Piedmont pours. And now, he's finally ready to show off his skills with his namesake Berlico Barbera, a juicy, fruit-forward red we think you'll love.

To make the wine, he chose to work with 50-year-old vines, which yield fruit with exceptionally concentrated flavors, and let some of the Barbera hang on the vine well-past they've ripened. (This allowed them to “raisin” in the sun to obtain even greater richness.) He then took the fruit back to the Sartirano family’s sustainable estate to craft what's sure to be your new favorite beverage.

The result has seductive floral and red fruit aromas, plus a juicy, silky palate brimming with dark berry flavor—a guaranteed crowd pleaser.
