In white, you’ll uncork a vibrant Sonoma Sauvignon Blanc that comes from the vineyard of the late Frank Woods, who founded California icon Clos du Bois—and the lush Napa Chardonnay (usually $41.99 a bottle) is made with grapes from Bill’s own neighbors, the Robledo Family.

In red, he accesses a tiny block of Richard Rued’s ranch (planted in 1870!) to create a silky Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. It’s the best-value Sonoma Pinot we know of. Bill also makes a plush, juicy and ultra-rare Sonoma Malbec, which is grown on the famed Kunde family vineyards. For his barrel-aged Sonoma Cabernet, he also uses fruit from the Kundes, plus a small parcel from the Peterson Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley.
